French Polynesia sunindex: the best time to travel to French Polynesia
Of all the Sunindex destinations French Polynesia is probably one of the most remote. This tropical destination consists of 6 island groups located in the south Pacific Ocean. Although French Polynesia is seen as an independent country it is still part of France. French Polynesia consists of about 130 islands which cover 4,167 square kilometers of land.

The islands are spread out over an area of 2.5 million square kilometers. Because of its remote location plane tickets are fairly expensive. Tourism in French Polynesia aims for the higher segment. No expense is spared to create an overwhelming holiday atmosphere in which you can get yourself pampered. The winter is not the best period to travel here. From December till February tropical showers are not uncommon. However, if you do not plan to spend your entire holiday on the beach or along the pool this should be no problem.
