Jamaica sunindex: the best time to travel to Jamaica
Jamaica is an island in the Caribbean which is known for its sun, rum and reggae music. The deceased reggae legend Bob Marley put Jamaica on the map as the country with its sunny reggae tones. This is also why the Bob Marley museum in Kingston is one of the main attractions. Jamaica mainly consists of mountainous regions with several impressive slopes on the coast. On the northern side of the island beautiful bays can be found such as Montego Bay and Discovery Bay. On the south side the mountains gradually descend, because of this here you can find beautiful wide and white beaches. Pictures of these beaches are often used in travel magazines. The interior is just as beautiful as the coast. Because of the tropical climate and geographical conditions of Jamaica you find an interesting mixture of rugged mountainous regions and beautiful plant life and fairytale like waterfalls and cliffs. The luscious green scenery you find here is because of high temperatures in combination with high precipitation figures. Because precipitation figures are low during the winter Jamaica is an ideal winter season destination. Most rain falls from May till October. From November both precipitation figures and the number of showers start to decrease. Especially January, February, March and April are very dry making Jamaica an ideal winter sun destination. However, chances of rain are still fairly high in the interior from November till April.
