Palau sunindex: the best time to travel to Palau
The Republic of Palau is an island Group in the Pacific Ocean and is part of the Micronesia region in Oceania. Palau consists of more than 340 islands, only a small part of which are inhabited. The largest island is Babeldaob. The capital Melekeok is located on this island and is also the seat of government. The smaller island of Koror is the most densely populated island.

Until 2006 Koror was the capital after which the government moved to Ngerulmud and Melekok became the official capital. With this Palau has the smallest capital in the world with a population figure of fewer than 300. The interior of Palau mainly consists of tropical rainforests and mangrove forests.

The coastal lines consist of beautiful snowy white beaches with many bays where you can go diving or snorkeling. Diving for ship wrecks from WWII is very popular here. Not many hotels and resorts can be found in Palau. Most of them can be found on Koror. Palau is a beautiful winter sun destination, yet to be discovered by mass tourism.
